Activities |
Watch a video to generate a dicussion about the Bill of Rights, and determine prior knowledge of the students.
TEAS The students will go on a Treasure Hunt to find some important and interesting facts about the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They will explore the resourses and write a personal reflection. This lesson will be assessed by grading the written responses required on the Treasuer Hunt. Treasure Hunt The students will be placed in groups to work collaboratively. Each group will fill out one part of the chart describing one of the freedoms found in the First Amendment. Then, together draw a picture demonstrating that freedom. Each group will present their freedom to the class allowing the entire class to complete the chart. Art work will be hung up in the classroom to use for review. First Amendment Chart The students will create a facebook page for one of America's founding fathers. The profile page must include 5 personal details from the life of the founding father and three friends. The page should also include at least 3 pictures. Talk Show - Video a talk show host interviewing a founding father of the United States. What guided their thinking as they designed the Bill of Rights? Each group will interview a different founding father. Use the Rubic requirements to guide this project. |
